CerMark Solutions for Metals

There are several forms of CerMark that can be used to make permanent black marks on metal items.  If you have never used CerMark products we suggest you start with CerMark Ultra which is the newest version.  We have a small tester spray can you purchase to try with your laser.  CerMark products will work with CO2 lasers above 30 watts and fiber lasers as long as they can go to 200 kHz. or higher frequency.  CerMark LMM 6000 and LMM 14 have been in use for more than 20 years.  LMM 14 was originally know as TherMark.  LMM 6000 works best on stainless steel and hard metals but not as well on softer metals like aluminum or brass and high polish finishes.  Ultra and 14 tend to work on metal types as long as there in not clear film, coating or paint on the metal.  Different metal types will require different power and speed settings.  Softer metals suck the heat away from the laser area and need to be run at slower speeds then harder metals like stainless steel.  Every laser is different so you will have to do some testing to determine best settings for your unit.  6012 is a version of 6000 that can be applied to items without spraying by screen printing.  6150 can be used to make white colored marks on dark metals.  6151 can be used to make copper colored marks on metals.  These two only come in liquid form and must be applied by spraying.  These two also only work on harder metal types like stainless steel.
