Glass marking with CerMark LMM 6000

by Jessica Mendoza

Here is another way to reduce glass chipping when laser marking.  CerMark LMM 6000 is normally used to make black marks on metals but can also help create smoother marks on glass.  The LMM 6000 will reduce the amount of heat shock the glass experiences from direct CO2 laser marking that can cause chipping.  This photo shows a power speed test grid mark made by Dennis Gilmore of Ferro on glass that has been sprayed with LMM 6000.  The sample was made on a 60 watt Epilog Legend at 400 DPI with Floyd Steinberg image dithering.
